Our beginnings
In 1996, discouraged by not finding any Merveilles beignet (a kind of deep-fried pastry of French origin) to sell at their weekly markets, Jean-Luc and Françoise Saynac decided to develop their recipe. It would require 2 years of research and tastings carried out each week by the daily clientele.
In 1998 the adventure officially began in a 100 m² laboratory in Haillan. In 2001, the Large Retailers opened them its doors to market this little "donut" throughout the southwest of France.
The adventure continues
In 2004, accompanied by their daughter Audrey, the company moved into a 1000 m² site, in order to effectively meet growing demand. And it is with this famous mix of know-how and dynamism that Les Dons de Calsay evolves.
In 2011, the family was complete, Jérôme, their son, joined this wonderful adventure, with identical goals: to honor our gastronomic heritage, and to perpetuate values beyond generations!
Why Calsay ?
The first 3 letters are those of the name of a gentleman who gave them a lot at the start, the next 3 are those of their name.
Les Dons (The Gift) were added to allow the authentic aspect of the products to shine through.
